A great appbut I wish I could just type in an address like google maps but worth every penny, the GPS is a great asset for a tourist and it does not use any data
You dont need wifi or 3G for this to work! Felt very secure in knowing our location as well as the direction we arer going a must fit anyone in Amsterdam!!
Great for seeing what all of Amsterdam has to offer and even lists the tram numbers. Makes for getting around very easy.
Great app. Easy to use, very useful, always gets you home or wherever you want. And it really works off-line also. I would add other points of interest, but thats a detail. By the way, a must have for those visiting Amsterdam: when other cities?
Some bad moments
Expected to get good hint and tips about walking/cycling/boating hour/day tours + solid list of different POIs with instructions how to reach those.
What I got is very expensive copy of city map available at any hotel reception. Keep using paper map + Google Maps and you will get much much higher value.
Stick with the free version. Map is the same as the printed version. GPS does not work unless you turn on data. No reason to buy this version.
I actually found this app really useful. I had a hard time finding my way around Amsterdam with a map. The GPS made it way easier for me.
I managed to hit several museums I otherwise would have spent hours trying to find. Totally worth the $.
Note, I did have a data plan, but most of the time I turned off cellular data.
Was able to find anything and thought it worked great. Really helped with the tram.
The distance feature is a bit elementary. It simply draws a line between two points.
Ive wandered around the city for two days with this app - and I know Centrum fairly well - and its great. Get the GPS version. Tracks accurately 90% of the time maybe 50 yards off on occaision / corrects with movement. Real time synchronization lets you follow your travels on the tram. Best of all - youre not constantly looking at a paper map - youre looking at your iPhone - just like the locals.
Been to Amsterdam many times. This app is great. Took me to an incredible restaurant. The Five Flys, recommend 100%.
